I'm buying my ammo from Midway. I have a feeling I'm paying too much. Where is the best place to buy Black Hills 223 ammo?

You should check the tacked ammo price list. FultonArmory is often the best place when buying a case at a time.

Ya haven't checked the prices lately, there "ucc", as Midway is cheaper and your ammo will arrive in days NOT the weeks Fulton takes......

I would like to know too.  The only place that is kind of close to me is cabella's and they are priced high as well.  The last time I ordered from Midway for mine but this stuff is getting way too expensive.

Always buy BH when Fulton runs their 10% off sales (several times a year) you won't find it cheaper.

Takes weeks to get your ammo?  I call my order in and usually have it a few hours later.

I guess living in MD has it's advantages

I didnt think you could use the words "Black Hills" and "cheap" in the same sentence. I keep hearing its one of those mythical things, like dragons and unicorns.

Cheapest I have seen it in some time.

Picked up 500 rounds of the 75grn for $242 (including shipping and round-up contribution)

The Sportsman's Warehouse by my home in TX has the BH Blue Box 55gr FMJ for $11/box of 50.  That comes to $220/1000 + tax, although I'm sure there's a by-the-case discount (I've only bought a few boxes at a time).  I haven't found it for better.

It looks like you have some water damage at the top of the case.  What you want to do is to take the first couple of boxes from the top and get rid of them.  They are damaged because the primers are not sealed, moisture will ruin the gun powder.  For proper disposal, please send them directly to me.

How good is their 55 grain FMJ? I know their JHP etc is fantastic as I shot two 5/8 inch 5 shot groups at 100 yards yesterday with 12-15 year old stock I had.
But what about the 55FMJ is it worth the price of shipping and hassel when I can get Walmart white box that shoots excellent in both my guns.

Although I have not shot Win. White Box, I have shot a case of the BHBB 55g ammo and it was the tightest grouping ammo I have shot "for the price".

Just get a box of it and see how it does.

Their FMJ is extremely accurate compared to WWB, so if that's what you're looking for, you can't beat the price.

I will give it a try but as I said both my guns love the Made in Israel white box stuff. I get around one inch average in my varminter and 1 1/4 to 1 1/2  5 shot groups with the 16 inch and that pretty darn good with inexpensive ammo. I will hunt down someone that has it locally and give it a shot though.

Sorry for my ignorance but other than the obvious, what's the difference between the 77gr SMK and the 75gr MHPBT rounds? What does SMK stand for?
I see the terms Black Hills Blue & Red boxes. Other than color, any differences in this ammo?
Thanks,
Clint
