If any of you guys want to get some of the last remaining XM-193 which is only left at Wideners, it's moving fast. They had about 3500 boxes this morning and their down to 1100. It's supposed to have a big price increase after this inventory's gone and harder to come by according to them. $210 / K isn't too bad for this stuff with prices on everything going up.

I just received my 2 cases from Widener’s today. Is the XM193 shortage usually temporary or is this the norm for the foreseeable future? I just got my AR a few weeks ago and have about 4K rounds of XM193. Should I save the XM193 and buy some other rounds for range time and plinking? Having never lived through an ammo drought, I was wondering what history has shown us when, and if this happened before.

I've been hoarding my XM193 and shooting ADCOM, RORG and IMI 223.

I would take it easy on the XM193 and get some XM855PD or Federal AE223 or something like that for blasting at the range. I don't think that the XM193 is going to be as available as it has been in previous years and certainly won't be nearly as cheap. It only makes sense that as most of these older rifles in the government arsenal wear out or get phased out they will be replaced by the newer M16's using M855 making this round obsolete. I am taking all mine and putting it on strippers in bandoliers and storing it in ammo cans for a rainy day and shooting the PD stuff that comes loose in the box, but I hear that's not going to be around for much longer.

I'll definately be holding on to my XM193 now...LOL, Mirage Technologies is selling their new stock for $ 252/k.

Same here, I picked up 25 boxes of WWB 40 round value packs to plink with.
