I average about $350.00 a month on stock piling ammo.

Just got my statement for last month 1489.00 on ammo and the month before was 950 ish. Avg is probably 400-500 really slows down in the summer.

I probably shoot on average 350 to 400 rounds a week. That is a mixture of .223 Rem, .22LR and a few other calibers depending on what I'm in the mood for... 7.62x39, .308 Win, 7.62x54R, 8x57mm Mauser, .303 Brit, .30-06 Spr, etc... The mix for a given week makes a big difference in how much it costs since the ammo prices vary so widely between those cartridges. I also reload some of those cartidges which makes a difference...

If you're buying every month, then you're not spending your money wise enough. Buy in bulk only once or twice a year and you'll get the most 'bang' for your buck. My last bill for .223 was 5k.

Probably $15-20 on avg. Some of you must make really good money or shooting is your only hobby.

Being a poor college student doesn't help any. 2 weekends ago I bought 280 rounds between 5.56, .45auto, and 00B, and I thought I was ammo rich! Don't really get to shoot that much either, b/c I try to save approx 33-50% of what I buy.

It probably averages out to about $150/month, although I don't buy monthly but in bulk every now and then. I have a pretty sizable stash so the spend is primarily to maintain my supply. My piston upper shoots Wolf without a hiccup (yeah, my three DIs won't cycle Wolf...short strokes all day long), so that should help the budget a bit. Save the Q3131A, IMI, Winchester and XM193 for a rainy day.

Not enough. I buy 500 or 1000 rounds of various ammo every now and then, usually every few months or more. I shoot often, but not in real high volume, so it works out for me.

averaging it out over 12 months its probably around $50-100 a month.

Hit up several shows a year and thats where most of it comes from, spend at lesat $150, couple of times have hit $300. Winter shows is just stocking up for summer, don't shoot much in the winter due to rain.

$250-500 depending on amount of shooting I do.

If it is a "active" month I can spend over the $500 mark, but on average I'm between $250-500.

Since I got my RRA 9mm Carbine, I shoot 2000-3000 rounds a month, which is driving up my ammo bill. I wish I had the time to get to the rifle range more often to shoot the 223's and 308's

I reload my own .223 so that's never a problem. I have a good PoPo source for used brass and that keeps the cost down to a minimum.

Today I bought the maximum my UK Firearms Licence allows me to buy in 22lr

1000 rnds of 22lr is the most I can buy in one go.(Cost £50 uk)
I'm allowed to hold 1500 but only buy 1000 at a time.

If you think this is bad

I'm licensed for target shooting ...so ammo can get used up pretty quickly
But i've heard of people licenced to shoot vermin/rabbits who are only allowed to hold 50 rounds of ammo.

BTW I can hold 600rnds .223 legaly and buy 500 rnds at a time
I've also got .357 and .303 on my ticket too
So when I get some spare cash and the wife is half asleep....I'll get another rifle soon

Stupid English people...... I personally wouldn't live there, but I'm American. I bet it would be different if I was from the area....

I'm also a poor college student. I bet I spend about a 100 a month in ammo. Mostly in 9mm, .357sig(expensive), 45 acp, and 12 ga. A good month for me, especially when I buy sig ammo, is maybe 175

I used to spend and shoot about 500-600 dollars a month in ammo. Now that I dont have as much free time I I dont buy very much ammo or shoot very much, but hopefully that will change in the next few months. This year I have 400 dollars a month budgeted for firearms and ammo so if I want a new gun or optic ect. that mneans no ammo no shooting

I buy a case of wolf 223 monthly or bi monthly
a case of wolf 9mm every 2-3 months
a case of 12 gauge tactical slugs every 2-3 months
22 LR whenever I run low prolly a brick every 2 months
that's it for me

If I average what I've bought in the last year over 12 months, it comes out to $151.84.

I don't have a regular shooting schedule per se. I might not shoot any ammo for a month, then go to a big MG shoot and go through 3k or 4k in a day or two. Normal shooting, pistol practice, etc. probably around 150-200 rounds per month. Plus, I recently added 9mm to the mix, in large quantities.

The only thing I'm short on right now is .45 ACP and I'd like to have a couple (or many) more thousand rounds of the boxed XM193 (love that stuff!!). One more big shoot and I'll be out of XM193, so I'm on the lookout for good alternatives.

I am surprised to be in the minority. Annually might have made a more accurate survey, since I am over $450 for ammo this month. I am not stockpiling, just burning bonus money, my Christmas present to me!!

I reload, so the average would really be less than $100 a month.

I buy ammo when I either:

1. see a good deal I can't pass up
2. see something I think may be getting harder to find in the future / or is hard to find.
3. any other reason I can think of

4. I stockpile ammo so I always have alot of choices depending on my shooting needs.

I've never really "stockpiled" any ammo. I usually buy what I'm going to use that day.
I shoot WAY more .22lr than .223...so I do have small stockpile of that.

I'd say less than $60 a month.

$200 a year is less than $4 a week... That is only a little over a box of ammo a week assuming you don't have to pay for range time? Yikes. Y'all need to find yourself a better job...

I've built my SHTF stocks up. So I only purchase whats needed to replace it, or take advantage of a sale on must have cals. 5.56mm!!!!!But I can never have too much!!!

Usually right around $100, but it mostly depends on if I'm sighting in or checking with expensive ammo (TAP in .308 or .223, or Ranger in .45) or just using practice ammo.

This month alone I've spent about $600.00. New gun, gotta have ammo. So far I have 4000 rounds of 5.56. I still have to stock up .40 for my Beretta Storm. I do have enough .22lr.

I'll stop buying soon, really I will.
