I picked up around 350 rounds of Malaysian M193 a couple of weeks ago, and I finally got around to chronographing the load through my 16" Rock River M4gery.  I also shot the M193 through a 22" rifle.  Here are the results:

Barrel Length:  16.5"
Temperature:  48*
Chrono 12 feet from muzzle

Malaysian M193, '84 Head stamp (16.5" bbl)
3074    3086    3065    3058
avg: 3071
SD:  12.09
med: 3069.5

Malaysian M193, '84 Head stamp (22" bbl)
3276    3292    3252
avg:  3273
SD:  20
med:  3276

Accuracy was around 1.75-2" @ 100 yards

Winchester Q3131
3037   2987   3044
avg:  3022
SD:  31
med:  3037

South African PMP .223
2801    2766    2812
avg:  2793
SD:  24
med:  2801

Wolf Polymer
2666    2666    2661
avg:  2664
SD:  2.8
med:  2666

The Malysian M193 performed about as expected, as was fairly accurate.  It was also close to the Q3131, but velocites were more consistent.  The PMP was quite a bit slower, but has been reasonably accurate.  The big surprise was the Wolf Polymer.  I knew the Wolf would be slower, but I had no idea the velocities would be as consistent as they were.  Granted, I only fired three rounds, but I was running out of daylight.  However, a standard deviation of only 2.8 is excellent for any ammo!

I also clocked a little .308 ammo through my 20" Savage heavy barrel.

LC Ball, '91 headstamp
2569    2583    2583
avg:  2578
SD:  8
med:  2583

Remington 150gr Core-Lokt factory
2588  2677  2661
avg:  2642
SD:  47
med:  2661

The Lake City turned out to be decent ammo, averaging around 2" @ 100 yards and better than  minute-of-bad guy @ 300 yards.  Never shot for actual groups at 300 yards, just a chest sized steel plate we have hanging at the distance.  The funny thing was, I could shoot the gun from the prone position, and still be able to get the scope back on target (after recoil) before the bullet hit the plate!

The .308 LC Ball seems to be a bit on the slow side.  I thought that M80 Ball was supposed to be in the neighborhood of 2700 ft/sec.

Not too sure about the velocity, as this is the first I've chrono'd.  I assume its 150gr bullets, but it could be heavier stuff.

Good data.  Can you chrono AE223 (55g and 62g) next time?

No headstamp on the "Winchester Q3131"?  Is that Q3131A or Q3131 no a?

Thanks,

Shok

No, its all marked "Q3131" on the box.  I actually have some Q3131A, so I'll clock it the next time I go.  I'll also try some more Wolf, and see if the SD stays in the single digits (which I doubt).  I don't have any AE, but I'll look around for some locally to try.

Oh, I did get a chance to shoot some M855 through another 16" AR, and it all averaged in the 2900-2950fps range.  I didn't write the velocities down, so I can't actually give an average or SD for the load.  I spent most of the day playing with my .308, but I will get back to the 5.56 stuff.

Jason, I sent Hayseed some numbers on the AE stuff.

Are the Q loads the new production stuff?

Not sure, as I've had this the Q3131 for at least a year now.  I'll check the boxes and see if I can find a date stamp.
