Go buy a few boxes of each and try it out. Seriously, the only way to determine that is to try it out. I personally think it will make no difference since we're not talking match grade ammo. Wolf is plinking grade stuff. I shoot it when I don't feel like collecting my brass for reloading.

Get a few box of each and try it out first, just to make sure that it will run in your gun. In my experience, both run fine in my BM M4gery and my Colt A2. 62gr seems more accurate compare to 55gr so I am running 62gr. Again, this is not match grade so if you expect tight group, go with something better.

This was 62gr out of my 16" Bushmaster M4 barrel @ 50 yds, good enough for me:
 First shot I hit the soda cap, knocked it down. I actually thought I missed and the vibration knocked it off. Then I shot 4 shots each at 2 12 gauge shells stuck into holes in the styrofoam at my range. Could barely see the 2 shells at 50 yards using just my Bushnell Holosight. So I shot 5 or 6 shots at each and then went downrange, hit both and really tattooed the one. The other was just a glancing blow to the lip of the metal rim. |

I've had good luck with the 62 grn. I actually group much tighter with it at 50 yrds than xm193 or M855.

If you want to save a few bucks go with bear not wolf. Wolf is a smaller shell case and the coat of the shell case along with this size issues can prove to fault during the ejection and chamber action of your bolt. I would not use any of it at all. I stick to brass case 223 with no coat.

10.7K rounds through my M4orgery with only minor issues fixed with a new extractor spring. (woooo a $2 item!)
I kinda like the 62gr stuff a little better, it "seems" to have more bang than the 55gr stuff. I dunno, maybe I was "seeing things" I wish I could find more of the 62gr around here. it is always sold out so it can't be that bad. |

My experience is that my 1x9 AR-15 barrel will usually do better with a 62 gr bullet than with a 55 gr.
Interestingly, 62 gr is closer to the midpoint of the optimal bullet weight range listed by Kuleck & Duff in "The Complete AR-15 Owner's Guide" for a 1x9 barrel (50 to 70). I have found, however, that such does not hold true for the 62 gr SS109 bullet, probably due to its balance being different than a stock FMJ bullet because of the steel penetrator core. 62 gr Wolf does MUCH better than 55 gr Wolf in my VEPR-K, which is a 1x9 as well. |
