wideners has it at a pretty good price

i do have some question for any one who uses this?

they say this is new production crimped primers and sealed primers and bullets

i would imagine this would be good "shtf ammo right" ????

thanks in advance

I bought a case about 2 weeks ago and shot some at the range.  I think Black Hills Blue Box was a little bit more accurate, but it shot fine.  You shouldn't have any problems with it.

Black Hills Blue Box is not sealed.  It is remanufactured ammo that is on once fired brass (LC anywhere from 97 to 04) but goes through the same line as the new ammo.  Good stuff.

The IMI is primo stuff, but It's not loaded to M193 velocities!  It is .223 ammo.  I like the XM193 better for SHTF.

I just got a KY Imports catalog in the mail yesterday. They have the IMI in the black/white boxes shown above for $169.99/1000. They also have Winchester Q3131A for $189.99/1000. Are these two one in the same? I thought I read that IMI produces the Win Q3131A. Is that correct?

Q3131A is a hotter load and is actually 5.56
the other IMI is not as hot and is .223

I believe both are made from IMI

I checked their website and it only states Q3131 not the A.

IMI is, in my opinion, 1 of the top 3 ammo producers in the world (Hirtenberger, WCC, and IMI).  Have no worries on this ammo as far as quality, performance, etc....shoot with confidence.  IMI machinery was set up by Winchester many yrs ago, and while in the military (now retired) fired many .45 ACP rds mfg by IMI.  Buy as much of this stuff as you can afford, it will never decrease in value or anything else.  Just my thoughts on this subject...TG.

I love IMI stuff.  If it's good enough to keep radical islamists in line, it's good enough for the rest of us.  I long for the old days when Wideners carried a lot larger selection of IMI reloading components.  I'ved used IMI 55gr FMJ projectiles in .223, and also used IMI 9mm projectiles.  I have some now hard to find IMI 7.62x39 brass, over 2000 pcs, nice and shiny!

Yes, I've fired it and it worked great. A friend gave me a few boxes of it at the range and I shot it up without a hitch.

The cheap loose pack ammo is recovered ammo, a lot of it will be old and may or may not be in good condition, it's a crap shoot, that's why it's cheap.

The IMI that Widener's has is first class.
