Can someone send me some articles on how 5.56 is better than 7.62 x 39.  I need a buddy of mine to read them.  Maybe some stuff from Dr. Fackler.

That is not the case.  Quality 7.62x39 ammo is superior to lots of 5.56 ammo.  It is only when you compare FMJ loadings that 5.56 is superior when looking at close range terminal ballistics where the 5.56 fragments and the 7.62 does not.  You cant just state one caliber is better than another.
