.223 ammo prices were the pits. $4.37 for 20 rounds of UMC 55gr FMJ, and $11 something for the 100 round 'value pack' of the lightweight varmint rounds.
I was also unimpressed with their sale on Remington 870s.. |

Just 2 or 3 weeks ago they had a sale on Rem UMC .223. $2.88 for a 20 rd box. Worked out to $153 per K with 6% PA sales tax. I snagged 1K and the stuff is impressively accurate in my 14.5 Bushy barrel. I did chrono it too, but I don't have the #'s with me now, but I think it was about 2950 fps out of the same barrel.

It was a 5 hour sale and I just happened to be in the store 1/2 before they closed. Sorry, they wouldn't let me use their computer to post here on arfcom.  I didn't get home till much later that night. If I could have, I would have. |
