I just ordered my second 1,000 round case of XM-193 and I still have about 15 rounds lest over from the last batch. Some have the bullet seated high (above the cannelure) and some are low. Does anyone have dimensions at which point the round shouldn't be used? I am more concerned that the ones that are seated too deeply could be shoved in any further and compress the powder. So, I am asking the experts here for some guidance. Thanks, Andy

If they are seated longer but still run through a mag, I'd think they'd be OK.  You might want to lean on them on a hard surface to make sure they don't setback any further and that neck tension is good.  Assuming so, load em and shoot em.

If seated too short, I'd be reluctant to shoot them.  

Some of the XM193 I have in hand (20rds boxed stuff) have the cannelure cut at the wrong place, so it appears that bullet is not being seated deep enough. However, when compare to other round, the OAL is the same. You might want to check the OAL of the round if you can see the cannelure on the outside.

OAL for 5.56mm M193 is 57mm. Remember there's also the chamber OAL to worry about as well.

As long as they fit the mag without dragging the bullet' points on the front strip inside the mag, do not worry about it.  

Cannelure placement not that important... as long as the OAL is within reason.
