I hate to buy chinese ammo but this is the cheapest stuff on the market, anyone already used .45 ammo 230gr FMJ from Norinco?
What about the UMC ammo also in .45ACP?
Any input is appreciated.

I have use Tons of 7.62x39 and .308 ammo, and other than being a bit on the dirty side it is fine ammo - zero failures, decent accuracy.  Some of the older stuff was mildly corrosive, but the curent production shouldnt be...

LR, where did you find the Norinco for sale?  I have finished shooting up my old supply and would like some more.  They haven't had it at our gun shows in about 10 years.  I thought its disapearance had something to do with the Klinton ban.

thanks

Yup, as Troy pointed out I live in France, we can get Norinco ammo for 185 euros per 1000 rounds of FMJ .45ACP.
UMC ammo of the same caliber will cost 216 euros per 1000.
Is UMC any better?

I just bought 1K of the yellow box .223 Norinco at a gun show about 3 months ago.
Got it for 2.25 a box. It's still around.

I shot up a case of the yellow box Norinco .223 a few years back.  No problems, just a massive muzzle flash.  Did not chrono it.

Wow, that is expensive, I don't even pay that much for the good Lake City.
I always liked Norinco when I could get it, do they offer Wolf or Barnaul in France?

Imagine having to pay almost $300 for a case of mid quality ammo.

Too bad Ammoman doesn't have free shipping to Le Havre.

There's no Wolf or Barnaul in .45ACP here, .223 Barnaul costs 152 euros per 1000.
I know, ammo is expensive here in France.
I wish to move to the US for this reason and others as well

How do you know that I live in Le Havre?

Just by accident about the Le Harve thing, I was there in 2003. Had some business with our international distributer.

I liked the Norinco .223 ammo, I just haven't seen any for a long time around here, I have a couple thousand  rounds of 7.62x39 for the AK's

Oops, looks like nobody here have experience with the Norinco .45ACP ammo.
Considering that you all like their .223 ammo, I conclude that they produce good stuff so I'll give a try and buy a couple hundred rounds of .45 for trial.
I'll post results when the test will be carried out.
Thanks for your inputs.

I bought about 500 rounds of Norinco 9mm FMJ in the early 90's, and liked it.  (it was also dirt cheap at the time).

No problems, not particularly dirty.   I reloaded the cases successfully, although the primer pockets were a bit shallow and/or tight.

I think the Chicoms would have lots of experience with .45ACP since they made .45 knockoffs of the 1911 & and the Broomhandle Mauser, they also loved to use the Thompson.
