Ya get what you pay for.... personally I'll take the LC ammo over the other ya mentioned anyday of the week and twice on Sunday.
FWIW, I pounced on some of Ammoman's 45acp and 9mm just the other day and hope to get more after the Xmas presents are coverd.... Mike |

If you don't reload then I'd say stick with the lower cost berdan primed ammo.

Where in the hell he gets his facts???????????? Winchester had the value packs. Reloaders pack loose in cans. Lake City pulls millions off the line at various times for testing and evaluation and never puts it back on line.They just sell it commercially. Now if he said some of the loose ammo is rejects or seconds, he would be right. Also, a reject can be as minor as belmmished brass and this would in no way inhibit function. Point is, don't be scared of loose ammo.Just ask some questions before you buy. You might aslo consider how lucky we are to get USGI ammo under any circumstances, considering 95% of the shooters think it's the best  Eric the ammoman |

Never shot the Lake City stuff the Aussie stuff is awesome and I seriously doubt it can be improved upon enough to justify $50/1000 higher cost. Haven't reloaded .308 so I don't know if Aussie berdan primed or not.

$239 for 1000 rounds of .308!!!! That's damn cheap!!!!
Hell, for that price I might run out and get a .308 rifle. It's probably not match grade stuff, but considering 1000 rounds of M193 is ~$200 in most places, I think it's a pretty sweet deal, especially if it's Lake City. themao

I just received 500 rds of Lake City from Eric aka Ammoman today. It is well worth the money. I popped it open to check it out, and was pleasantly surprised. The majority of the brass actually has a shine to it, some of it is a little dirty, which should be expected. And, I haven't found a dented case yet! I really bought this ammo for the "gotta have it " factor, as I still have 1 case of Port., 1/2 case of Australian, and 2 1/2 cases of SA left. Great ammo, excellent service.

Well the Lake City .223 thats loose in cans and sitting on my desk, definitly looks like pick ups or floor sweepings, didn't get it from Eric though. And the loose IMI .223 (with scuff marks on the brass) thats on the market is definitly grade 2. Not all loose ammo is grade 2, but allot of it is! There is some loose .223 IMI, that you have to be real carefull of.

I got my 1K in. 2004 production brass. Looks good to me. I'll be using the brass to reload for the AR10.
$239/K DELIVERED for US production .308 seems like a pretty good deal to me.... Getting PORT delived is about $180 for me. This is worth it for good stuff and reloadable. |

LC all day over PORT! I still haven't warmed up to the idea of a steel bullet with THIN copper plating.
I know it's probably no biggie, but I'm nutty like that.

WOW! Mark this day! Markm and I agree on something!!! I dont shoot Port thru my AR10TLW for this very reason. I will have no issues with shooting the LC stuff thru it tho. |

Uhhhhhhhh........Ya know ...most if not all USGI LC M80 Ball uses a copperwashed mild steel jacketed bullet. I wouldn't pay Xtra $$ for LC M80 over Aussie/Potugese.  |

Yeah. I have heard that there are other steal jacketed rounds out there. Aussie and Spanish not being among them. I just feel warmer with rounds that pass the magnet test. I keep a bunch of AUSSIE in my stash. I just bought 500 rnds of LC to have a little. My PTR won't shoot Commercial .308 w/out blowing primers so I'm grabbing all the Surplus I can. |
