I just ordered a Bushy M4 and am wondering what type of ammo i should get.  Something inexpensive that won't dirty up the weapon too much.  I will be shooting everything at the range, this is not for home defense.  Thankshinking.gif

You can never go wrong with Q3131A or Lake City, both are pretty cheap. But if you would like something cheaper try American Eagle by Federal, it is great ammo. I have shot many rounds of it and I love it. And I have heard that they are using Lake City brass, so that comes with an added bonus. You can check the price list and the ammo review posted at the top and you can compare and make your decision. hug.gif

Of course you can also try wolf, it may not run in everyones gun, but you can take a chance and see if works for you. I personally don't use it, because I only like to shoot brass cases. You can collect them and resell them and get more money for more ammo.hug.gif

I just got back from the GRB.  I picked up 1000 rds of "American" .223 for $146 (including tax).  The dealer said it is U.S. made, and they are in a co-op with IMI.  The primers aren't staked and no laquer applied.  Case necks are annealed.  All bullets are seated at the canalure (sp) some deaper than others.  I just grabbed a random handfull and checked to see if the longer ones will chamber - they all do.  So I guess I'll find out if it was a good buy or not.

I am buying Israeli .223 (M193) surplus ammo for $136/1000.  That includes the shipping.  It is mixed production from the '70s, '80s, and '90s.  It looks like its been around and is packed in bulk in an old ammo can.  I've only shot 250 rounds or so, but with 100% reliability.  It is the cheapest full power 5.56mm ammo I can find.  I have all ready ordered 2000 more rounds.  I am not worried about shiny brass.  I shot a 30 round mag into about four inches at 100 yds, shooting off the hood of my truck, with the mixed dates.  It would undoubtedly shoot better from a good rest.

It never fails to amaze me, considering the recent post about American Ammunition (Amerc), some people will still go and buy that junk!

Where are you getting it?  Or is it a secret?

Some people will tell you different, but Wolf has never done me wrong.  With the amount you save buyin it, you can buy the replacement parts IF something breaks.
