On the momentum of two big first-time purchases (Bushmaster M4 semi-auto and ACOG TA01NSN), I will introduce my first forum topic.

Does anyone have experience with a similar setup and care to suggest a favorite inexpensive, dare I say 'all-purpose' ammo?  I know the Trijicon website states that the scope was designed specifically for 62gr. ammo, but my inquisitive inexperience leads me (or perhaps misleads me) into suspecting that there is more to this story than first meets the eye.

So, I am looking for first-hand knowledge of which ammo's trajectory most closely matches the ACOG stadia lines at various ranges.  Help me optimize my system please.

Ladies, and Gentlemen: your thoughts are appreciated!

Very nice.  I have seen that chart before.  A bit tough to decipher given some unfamiliar lingo and the strictly hypothetical terms of the uninitiated.  But I will give it a bit more attention, knowing that detailed answers lie within.  Doubtless, firing my setup will improve my understanding of the info contained in the chart.

In any event, it seems that ballistic differences between most varieties of ammo will be virtually indetectable--or at least insignificant--unless I'm shooting for competition, in which case I have the wrong rifle.  No, for the moment, I will enjoy learning to be accurate within the capabilities of my M4 setup and inexpensive M193 or M855 (or whatever else is suggested by this chart).

Thanks for the help!
