[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Federal HSM 5.56?

I havent heard of this ammo unitl recently at a couple gunshows. The vendor said it was reloaded ammo made by Federal and its just like XM193. Price was $130 for 1000 rounds, XM193 was $160-180 out the door (cant remember).

I did a search for HSM and didnt see anything. Does anyone have any experience with this ammo? A few of the WA guys have gone through a bunch of it with zero problems.

HSM = Hunting Shack Munitions

They're based out of Missoula, MT.

Federal does NOT own them, but they probably use a lot of Federal components. All of their ammo are "reloads", a la BH blue box.

I've never shot their 55gr stuff, but I've shot plenty of their 77gr.

I'd wager that you'll have zero problems with their ammunition.

IIRC most of HSM components are Winchester... but I'm sure they just use what they can get for the best $$... the pistol ammo seems dirty, but the .223 Ive shot was good stuff.

HSM 69 grain is one of the most accurate loads I have fired. I have tried their reloads in several calibers and it is good ammo.
