Went to the range today, I have a Bushmaster Varminter and was shooting xm193, lot 36/42 ammo.  Bolt would not close all the way after firing a round.  Upon close examination there was a crushed primer between the bolt face and chamber.  I couldn't find the round that had the missing primer.  Any thoughts on why it did it?  I had this happen 2 weeks ago also.  The M4 upper I have had no problems at all.

Wow.  This is a weekly topic!

Yep, it is. It's not surprising though considering all the chamber variations, ammo differences and the fact many people don't know all the differences between them. But it usually doesn't take long to find out after a trip to the range.

Oh, thats' why.  hock.gif Thanks for  the reply. Besides the occasional primer, 2 out of approx 1000 rounds of 5.56 is there any additonal risks?
