I am aware that S&B has a brass-washed steel bullet (I've done the magnet test).  I've used this ammo in my "Bushy" chrome-lined barrel AR with no adverse effects.  I have a new rifle with a stainless steel barrel.  Will S&B cause harm or excessive wear in my stainless barrel?TIA

I have no scientific data to back this up, but shooting steel bullets, copper-washed or not, out of a stainless barrel would bother me.

OTOH, I don't know how thick the copper wash is.  The lands in the barrel only cut a few thousandths of an inch into the bullet, so if the wash is thick enough that no steel is exposed, then you're probably okay.

I'm sure this is the kind of definitive answer you were looking for.
