I have seen several sources of surplus .308 from India.  It is supposedly Nato spec.  It is about 10 cents a round or less, 98 headstamp ball ammo.

Anyone tried it?  Does it have a circle/cross headstamp?

I understand some had poorly seated bullets.

Bought a can when it first became available. Don't bother - it's pretty much crap.

The word on this ammo is to RUN AWAY!!!  The ammo has some VERY defective rounds mixed in it.

Thanks for the replies, I believe you, Gus.

I hoped it would make good blasting ammo, I guess it is not worth messing with.

Do not buy it.

This is the worst ammo I have seen in my life.  It was nothing short of dangerous.  Any dealer that has the slightest regard for his customers would never have shipped the first round.

There is plenty of good 7.62NATO surplus ammo (ie. Port, SA, Australlian, etc) out there right now.
