Dear Friends and Family:

I know this is late notice, but I wanted to let you know that November 19, 2003 is the National Ammo Day.

There are an estimated 75 MILLION law-abiding, gun-owning households in the U.S.  If even a small fraction of us buy ammunition on National Ammo Day, we can send a strong message that law-abiding gun owners are HERE and we care enough to vote with our dollars.

National Ammo Day is not yet an officially recognized day, but as a Second Amendment supporter, I want to do all I can to get the word out.

BUY at least 100 Rounds of Ammunition on National Ammo Day

What is the purpose of National Ammo Day?

The purpose of National Ammo Day is to send a message to those who would seek to disarm us and to support U.S. ammunition manufacturers.

The goal is to put BILLIONS of rounds of ammunition into the hands of law-abiding citizens, all over the country, in a single day.

Let the politicians, the gun-grabbers, and the international community know that America is proud of its Right to Bear Arms and we will not be disarmed.

The gun/ammunition manufacturers have been taking the brunt of all the frivolous lawsuits brought by the gun-grabbers. These gun-grabbers are trying to put these folks out of business. Well, not if we can help it! And we CAN help it by buying ammunition on November 19!

How can you participate?

As a law-abiding citizen (and allowed to buy ammunition in your state or locale), we participate by purchasing ammunition on November 19: A 100 Rounds should do it.  Handloaders are counted by purchasing bullets and powder.

You might also want to let your ammunition supplier know of your intention to purchase ammunition on November 19, so they will have plenty of supply on-hand to meet the demand.  A form is available from the National Ammo Day website, or contact your local ammunition supplier directly to find out if they have setup any special procedures to handle all the anticipated sales.

You can also assist by spreading the word about National Ammo Day.  Send e-mails, faxes, and make phone calls to let your friends and family know about November 19.

There are other ways to show your support if you are unable or not interested in buying ammunition.  On November 19, send a letter, a fax, or call your local representatives and let them know that you support the Second Amendment and the unhindered rights of law-abiding citizens To Keep and Bear Arms.

In addition, you may choose to donate to (or join) a gun rights lobbying group and let them know you are doing so in support of National Ammo Day.  These organizations, such as the Second Amendment Sisters, NRA, and Gun Owners of America (to name just three), would benefit from your contribution.

What is a BUYcott?

BUYcott is the opposite of a BOYcott.  In a BOYcott, people send a message by refusing to purchase a particular good or service.  With a BUYcott, people intentionally buy something to make their support of the company or product widely known.

Find out more by visiting the National Ammo Day website at: www.ammoday.com.

If you have friends and family who are also Second Amendment supporters, please forward this message and help spread the word.

National Ammo Day:  A brief explanation

November 19, 2003 will be the second National Ammo Day.

It is a nationwide BUYcott of ammunition.  Unlike the first year of a single day, Year Two will kick off Ammo WEEK November 15 through 23, 2003:

The goals of Ammo Day:

There are an estimated 75 MILLION gun owners in the United States of America.  If each gun owner or Second Amendment supporter buys 100 rounds of ammunition, that's 7.5 BILLION rounds in the hands of law-abiding citizens!

The goal of National Ammo Day is to empty the ammunition from the shelves of your local gun store, sporting goods, or hardware store and put that ammunition in the hands of law-abiding citizens.  Make your support of the Second Amendment known--by voting with your dollars!
