Botach has 1200 rnds of IMI 5.56 for $189 shipped. Anyone use this ammo? Any good? I can't believe that Israel has any surplus ammo. Is this quality SHTF ammo or junk?

On a scale of 1 - 10 (10 being the best) as compared to Q3131A or Federal XM193 where does this stuff rank?

Can't locate the ammo, but all IMI ammo M193 or M855 is top notch a 10.

That stuff ranks up there with Q3131A and the LC XM193. Is this the AP stuff you are looking at? I loaded up 5 mags yesterday, good stuff!

Agreed, I'd give a 10 too

FWIW, SS-109 or M855, is steel-cored ammo but not AP, lest we confuse folks, as stated in the www.ammo-oracle.com, true 223 AP ammo is not for civilian distribution, military only.

Once again, mr_wilson is correct.

If this is the M855 (62-grain, steel core, green-tip) ammo, it is great ammo.  I got a couple of cases of this from Botach a few months ago and haven't had any problems.  IMI makes great ammo.  (Hell, they better.)

This ammo is grrrreat!  Nice thing is that it comes in thirty round boxes...thirty rounds per box, thirty rounds per mag...WHY THE HELL DOESN'T EVERYBODY ELSE DO THIS!

I searched the Botach site, and I can't find this ammo. Is it available to everybody? I would probably like to get myself a case or two.

Go to www.botach.com. Under the pic of the storm trooper click on the ammunition link. Then click on the Israel Militay Industries link. It's listed along with other ammo choices.

Because nice church going morally correct people only use five rounds at a time in their hunting rifles.[ROFL2]

I just bought 2cases of IMI-M193 from Botach today.  $378 for 2400 rnds works out to $.1575 per round or $157.50 per 1000 delivered to my door.  Ends up being about $20 a 1000 cheaper than I can buy Fed XM193 or Win Q3131A locally after I pay the sales tax. Its even a better deal than I could get from Sportsman's Guide using their $15.00 off coupon after the shipping was calculated.  If it's good enough for the IDF it's good enough for me.

I ordered a 1.2K round case also. I'll most likely fire off 200 and keep 1K in reserve along with the case of Q3131A I already have.

Anyone know if this ammo is sealed?

yes it is, at least the batch I got is sealed.

I do not recall the lot number, I put it all on stripper clips.

I'll be surprised if you can stop with 200, that is some great ammo, you'll love it.

Ordered from Botach couple weeks back ( i even posted on here). Box came within 5 business days. Great shooting ammo. Same as Q3131A.

I got some IMI M855 years ago when you could get it from Cole Distributing. It's pretty good stuff, certainly NATO spec. I think Botach is the sole US distributor for IMI ammo now.

Widener's is their other dealer in the US. By most of the reports here and on IMI's own site forum, I would say Widener's service HAS to be better than Botach's (One would hope!)

Cheers,
