I am curious here as to which load would be better for small deer sized critters.  I have a small quantity of both Black Hills 75/77gr HPs and some Winchester 64gr powerpoint ammo and they all shoot quite accurately in a 20" superbull.  I figure shots would be relatively close.  I know it'll lack the punch to make shoulder breaking shots but with a well placed round on 110lb ish critters?

I'd look at the over all length of the loaded round. To keep the 75gr. bullet "Mag Friendly" you'll have to sacrifice some powder capacity.
The 64gr.PP may have the edge on expansion as well.

The 75 gr is loaded Black Hills ammo.  It functions fine in my ARs.  Not sure of the velocity but accuracy is excellent.

We use hand loaded 64 gr. Power Points for 50-100lb goats here in Hawaii.  ~2800fps from my 16" M4.  Accuraccy is quite good and performance is very consistent.  Good expansion even when bone is hit first.

I think the Black Hills will fragment, right?

If you're gonna eat'em that might not be what you're looking for.

Both will kill the deer pretty well.  Edge given to the TAP load for sheer killing power.

As far as hunting goes, use the Powerpoint.  You don't want to be picking bullet fragments off your dinner plate!

Yep, get the Powerpoint. The Black Hills 75 gr will do fine in fragmenting and killing the deer within it's fragmentation range, but like the others said, your goal here is to have good effect yet not destroy any more of the meat than necessary. The Powerpoint will give you good expansion and the needed penetration to be effective on game of this size and even a bit larger. Still, try for good shot placement anyway.

Also, the Winchester Supreme Powerpoint Plus may give you a bit more velocity and it also has a cannelure which will lessen the chance for bullet set-back. The original Powerpoint doesn't have a cannelure and sometimes has bullet set-back issues in AR rifles. Whether or not this is a concern for you, I will leave up to you.
