Have some .223 that is stamped P M 78
I know it's from 1978, and still has the red primer sealant.
Any ideas?

My other question is about some ammo stamped R P .223. No date stamp.

Not sure about the P M, but the R P is, of course, Remington (R.P stands for Remington-Peters).
