Anybody tried Barnaul Ammunition .223? It's pretty inexpensive and I was thinking about getting my self a 500 round pack of it, but... I don't know if it's any good. Does anybody have any experience with it?

I got a couple of boxes at a gunshow a while back and I liked it.  It was a little more accurate than Wolf and it was a little cleaner also.

I went through 500-rds of the Barnaul 62-gr HP in my Oly CAR97M4. Functioning was fine, no FTFs/FTEs and accuracy was about 2"-3"@100-m, rested.

I put 500 rounds through my Bushmaster carbine and it worked flawlessly. I have mixed feelings about using steel-cased (and steel-jacketed, in this case) ammo in guns that were not designed for it (unlike AKs), but I have yet to experience any problems resulting from it. All things considered, the Barnaul stuff is pretty good ammo for a great price.
