I just ordered some this morning from ammoman (Eric).  He was shipping it out today.  Ooohhhh I'm so happy!!  On stripper clips, in cans, ready to lock and load.

[Kidding]Hoping to pick up more before it's gone, but I can only make the wife work so much overtime to pay for my habit.  [/Kidding]  MournSword

Just got back from the Harrisburg, PA gunshow. A guy was selling these same cans of of USGI Winchester 1987 for 160.00 for 840 round or a a crate of two cans for 310.00. I picked up one can (didnt have 300 cash on me). I opened them up when I got home and man these rounds on stripper clips and in bandos look GREAT!! They smell daisy fresh and the can is in like perfect condition...

Just stepped in from my back porch where I put my first 20rnds of this stuff through my AR10T.  At about 110yrds I put one five shot group at 1.31".  The rest were three shot groups, which I really dont even count as lagitimate groups, one of them was 1.12".  Some of the others may have been a tad better, I didn't check.  I was a little shaky today, I'm sure it can do better.  This seems to be really good ammo for mil-surp.  Got mine locally for $50 a can.  I've seen it cheaper online, just cant remember where off hand.

N45, No, sorry.  That was for 200rnd ammo box.  Like I said, it can be had for much cheaper with just a little looking around.

Well, if it's cheaper, great!!  But where?  I ain't gonna make it to that gun show, but anyone know where else?

Seems like everything you buy "is cheaper somewhere else", but I'd like names!!

MS, I did'nt mean that you could find it much cheaper than what you got it for, I meant it could be found much cheaper that what I got it for.  Sorry for all the confusion, I was just trying to give you a range report.  Think I'll just bow out of this thread, I'm doing more harm than good.

Anyone with this ammo--

It comes on strippers, but does it have spoons?
Link Posted: 8/24/2003 1:20:48 PM EDT
[#10]
Spoons? If you are referring to stripper clip guides then the answer is yes. There is a guide in each bando 6 bando's total for 840 rounds

I think some people are talking about .308 and others are talking about 5.56 in this thread.  Eric has both.

I purchased two cans of the 5.56mm this weekend at the gun show in Mesquite, Texas for $150.00/can out the door.  This ammo looks great!

That's pretty cheap compares to www.ammoman.com ($219 shipped).  Anywhere else online that is more competitive for this particular ammo?

two cans from ammoman is actually $419 which is so much higher than $150 I wonder if everyone is even talking about the same thing. if so, then that guy got a hell of a deal.

I just received my order of 5.56 from ammoman. It is 2 GI cans of ammo in stripper clips total of 840 rounds. Ammo looks great, I will be shooting some Friday and I will post my results. $219 delivered for what I have heard is quality ammo is not bad. I've seen that crap Olympic going for $185 plus shipping for 1000 rounds.

Yes, it is the same stuff.  Date on the cans was 1986 and/or 1987.  The first can I purchased still had the seal intact.  They broke it to make sure the can was full and that it was what they were advertising.  I have purchased ammo from these folks before and they are at all of the gun shows here in the Dallas area.  They only had about 10 cans and I purchased my second can on Sun and then they only had one can left.  I just wish I could have purchased every can they had.

What makes this ammo worth more than Q3131A?

Got my order yesterday evening.  No problem at all.  Ammo is "Primo", original wood cases intact, cans sealed.  Nice. Happy with it.  Now if ammoman or someone would just get a bunch of SA in, it would be a great summer....  MournSword

Let me ask you guys a question. I'd like to get some of this but, call it privacy or paranoia take your pick, I'm just not into giving out a copy of my drivers license and my credit card info.

I'd be glad to send a M.O. and provide a signed statement that I'm over 18 years of age and not prohibited under 922(d) / 922(g) from receiveing the ammunition.

Is it common for internet vendors to require that much personal info? I haven't seen it advertised by other vendors.

Thanks for the clarification Eric the ammoman. I reread that on your site and understand now. That's certainly fair enough. I'm planning to place my order in morning. Thanks.
