I've read about moly coated bullets here and I have to admit I don't know what that is. What is it and what's it's purpose?

Here's another good article on moly-coated bullets, from NORMA, : http://www.norma.cc/htm_files/molydoc.htm

FWIW, I have bought moly coated Sierra 77grn. SMKs for use in my LR AR for the last few years, mainly for the extended "barrel life" benefit. However I have recently began shooting naked 77s and this is partial because the old guy (my personal gunsmith and long range shooter) who hawked their use has revised his opinion and cleaning is really a much messier process when using moly coated bullets.

YMMV,
Mike
