I need a large quantity for a belt fed. Who has the best price on the Portugese or the South African?  Is there anyone selling pre-linked?

Military Shooters is selling Australian milsurp .308 for $130.00/800 rounds, packed in four ammo cans, w/stripper clips & bandoleers.

Haven't been to the range yet, but it looks really good. Rumor has it that CMP has bought up a bunch of it to issue for matches.....

The Austrailian from Military Shooters is $130 plus actual shipping which was $26.70 to me (72 Lbs. of ammo). It took 4 days (including a weekend) to get it. It is nice looking stuff. Too nice for someone making noise with a machinegun.

I ordered three cases from militaryshooters and shipping dropped a bunch.  It cost me $49 to Michigan for all three, versus $27 each for one or two cases.  Ammo is great, too.  1988 mfg.

Ammoman should have it tomorrow at $179/800rnds delivered.

does that seem right? if I pick it up (I live right around the corner) I'll probably spent about $170 cash.

That seems a bit high to me. What do you guys think?

$179 - $157 = $22 (That's to me)

If you pick it up at Ammoman it would be $169.
Of course you HAVE to pick it up because they can't ship it.

Shipping from WI to NJ would be higher. You may as well go pick it up.

Ammoman,

Whats the future of surplus 7.62X51 look like as far as you see it?

Right now the Aussie stuff is whats left as far as I can tell. Please tell me I'm horribly pessamistic. Please?[>Q]

Any hope the Good folks in South Africa will cut loose more of the R1 ammo?

How about the Portugese ammo?
I REALLY like the Port. as does both of my FAL's.
It can't be a finite supply, but tell me we're not nearing the end of the "Good old days"!

Thanks much!
