I called and they won't sell me more than 900rd per order.  They said I can call later in the week and try ordering again.  What is going on.  The guy that answered the phone seemed to be a little hostile about it.

what difference does it make?  They still get the money and there's less transactions, resulting in less overhead doe to less time used by employees. right?

Maybe they have an over-developed sense of fairness.  You know, more concerned about all their customers that just dollars. [;)]

Someone mentioned this a few days ago.  I must have been one of the last to purchase more than 3 packs at a time.  They just billed my CC so I should be getting my battlepacks soon.  Glad I stocked up.  Might get another order or two in if they last another week or two.

They probubly have to eat more in shipping cost if you order all at ounce. You eat more in shipping with multiple orders?

Plus they may want you to buy other things besides ammo.  Think of it this way.  You're limited to 900 rounds you'll also throw in a few mags on the order.  Next time you order 900 rounds you also order a few more trinkets.

Could be political correctness. "Why do you need more than 900 rounds?"

I placed an order with them online last week.

My order was nearly $ 700.00 from Widener’s and I called to get tracking numbers for the order on a Friday and I was told it would not ship till Monday and that I should call back Monday afternoon. I found a much lower price on about $ 300.00 worth of my order half an hour later in my own state so I called back and was told that they had already shipped the ammo so I ask for a tracking number and I was told to call back on Monday afternoon to get it. This little deception on their part cost me nearly $ 100.00 in ammo and shipping because they weren’t satisfied with what would have still been a nearly $ 400.00 order.

AIM and Sportsman’s Guide and Kiesler’s and Natchez Shooters Supply have all been excellent sources for my ammo needs and have never done me wrong.

Just my .02

What does SHipping and handling cost on 170 lbs of ammo?

My best educated guess from Wideners to your state is around $ 86.00

~170 pounds of ammo was 6 of the $900 orders.  Or 5400 rounds.  I'm in Northern VA and the cost was $105*6=$630.  Total cost was $690 so shipping to here was $60.00    I've done better when I could purchase the tubs at Sportsmans guide, but I wanted this before it was no longer available.   I hope more comes in, like what was mentioned in that other thread.

UPS delivered my Wideners order today.

They did not send or bill my CC for 1000rds of 62gr SP that was ordered and did not mention it when I called for my tracking numbers.

Without the 1000rds it was $ 519.00 and $ 85.75 for shipping; I think I will just stick with AIM and Sportsman’s Guide and Kiesler’s and Natchez Shooters Supply for now on.
