I was trying to calculate some trajectories of Win USA 55 grain Q3131A through my rifle and went to Winchester's website to get the info. It showed a  ballistic coefficient of .267 and muzzle velocity of 3270 f.p.s. Does any one know how much speed to deduct for a 16 inch barrel? I was assuming 60 f.p.s. per inch, but I didn't know what length barrel Winchester used in the testing.

Go to the ammo faq section. All will be answered there.

3270 FPS is typically the velocity of Q3131A from a 20" barrel.

This is an assumption based upon seeing a lot of ballistic test data, but I can't guarantee it.

3270fpseven out of a 20" barrel--- I wish.  I have cron'ed this for for six months, and  lot no. SC12 is a very consistant 3050FPS.  But on the plus side, SA battlepack ammo ( 1986) is a consistant 3250, and so is Fed. XM193.

Expect around 3050-3120 from 16" with q3131a depending on conditions.
