That is what Barnaul steel case .30/06 goes for on the internet. Its for a rechambered Argentine Mauser 1909. So the lacquered steel cases wouldnt be as big a problem as a Garand but I would still prefer to use brass as this is a 93 year old gun.

Anyone got any pointers? I see the CAVU that Eric used to carry has dried up, alas.

You don't have any of the Danish in the 30 round boxes or on the 5rd Springfield clips do you Eric?

Even though I can take them apart the 8rnd Garand clips are excessive for a bolt gun.

Talon .30 M2 Ball should be in your price range.

Other than the difficulty in fitting M1 clips in bolt gun magazines theres's no reason not to use the Danish clipped ammo.

I shoot Talon and USGI M2 Ball from my 97 year old M1903 Rifle and 84 year old M1917 Rifle with no problems.

Who carries the Talon remanufactured .30/06?

I'd be willing to bet that this is about as cheap as you will find any kind of quality ammo, especially brass case ammo. This is South Korean M2 ball produced in the 1970's and 1980's by PMC. It is $89.95 per 400 rounds...which seems to fit your price requirements. Hope this is what you are looking for.

Grab a copy of Shotgun News or Gun List.  Talon M2 Ball is advertised in every issue.
