Just saw a sale for 1000 rds of Win USE .223 REM manufactured in Isreal for $179.00.

Is this a good deal ? I'll be using this ammo with my 20" Bushy and my 16" JT Expedition. I had heard that Armalite does not recomend this ammo for their rifles Does anybody know why ?

Thanks,

Joe39

IIRC it's 5.56 rather then .223 which may have accounted for an old advisory on it use. I have some for my new M15a4c, shoots fine.

It's actually Q3131A

Price is ok depends on cost of shipping though.

Sports Authority is selling Q3131, not Q3131A, and out of the 8 rounds I fired I had one failure to extract and 4 failures to eject.

Out of what kind of rifle?  What is it chambered for?  .223?  5.56?

Joe39,
That's a good price if it includes shipping, but I would buy XM193 for that price.

That's pretty extreme, what year is the ammo?

Q3131 and Q3131A are completely different animals.

Price is better than many, but you may find better deals if you shop around a while. Only slightly better though, IMO.

Not for quality reasons, if that's what you're concerned about.  It's good ammo.  Q3131A is what many people store away for the proverbial "rainy day."  Armalite may have had problems with using this ammo in a .223 chamber.  Your BM rifle has a 5.56 chamber, so no worries there.  I don't know what chamber the J&T has.

addition to the above comments:
Q3131A M193 is in spec and is Manufactured
in Israel on WCC brass by IMI(israeli Military Industries).

I shoot it all the time in my Armalite AR15 with no problems. The only ammo it doesnt like is Russian steel cased except for Silver Bear. I was too ignorant on ARs to know any difference between 223 vs5.56 when bought rifle so shot whatever with no problems-PMC PMP S&B Greek IMI Rem Fed etc. Keep IMI M855 for "rainy day" and it likes it fine.
