AP: Armor Piercing
Really hard bullet, punches through stuff. API: Armor Piercing Incinedrary (sp)? Hard enough to punch through armor, but also able to light whatever combustable stuff is behind the armor on fire... Good on aircraft and light vehicles (armored fuel tanks). |

My favorite .50 ammo is API-T. The I is extremely useful in determining strikes down range beyond tracer burn.
No incendary ammo for 5.56mm I'm aware of if that's what your next question is.....  -- Chuck |
