I was told that Wolf Ammo is cheap but over time being made with metal cases that it would damage the chamber of my AR. Is there some truth to this??? And who else sells ammo that cheap??? I know Wal-Mart has UMC 223 ammo for $3.96 a box but go there and try to buy 500 rounds and see the look you get, been there done that...

I have never seen a modern, centerfire cartrige that was not made of metal. I assume you mean the steel case that Wolf uses. If you are willing to purchase ammunition online you can buy ammunition in quantity for $2.10 - 4 dollars per box of 20 rounds. Try:

Just got at walmart WINCHESTER 55 GR.40 per box for $7.47 orderd ten more boxes,no bad looks.

In my opinion, your best bet would be the 55grn South African ammo. Brass case, FMJ. It's not reloadable, but it's cheap and I don't reload anyhow.

I think enough of it to shoot it through a $2000 Colt M4 copy. And I'm sure a large portion of it has been consumed by M16's.

I have shot many thousands of rounds of Wolf and I fail to see any problems in my Oly's chamber. The Wolf is just fine for plinking, with a radial error rate from my AR of around 1.5MOA (not great).

There is better stuff out there, but have fun plinking with the Wolf.

I have three AR's (ABC ! ! ) and each of them will eat ANYTHING ! ! Bushy has over 3000 rounds thru it with NEVER aproblem. And most of that has been either Wolf or Barnaul (like the 62 grain for the local steel plate shoots). However, you can get SA almost for the same price of Wolf. If you want ammo for "blasting" and maybe use the same for "back-up SHTF" ammo, get the SA. Just my 2 cents ! !
