I recently got a request from one of this forums Mods....So in response, a short post on "what I do for my competitive loading".

I do not hand load ammo for "short line", that would be for any distance 300 yds or less. Loading for 200 & 300 yds is way beyond the time constraints that I have set for myself. Currently I'm shooting Federal 69gr Gold Match for 200 yd slow fire and rapid fire. I use Black Hills 77gr for 300 yd rapid fire and for Infantry Trophy matches.

So, that leaves me to hand load for 600 and 1000 yds.
Currently I use the following plan for my intermediate and long range loads.

Virgin LC '97 case with the LC ball primer, Sierra 80gr MK.
25gr of Reloader 15 for 600 yds and 25.7gr of Reloader 15 for 1000yds.

Both loads are seated to 2.500" OAL +/- .002"

I trim my cases to length, full length resize, and neck size each case and then weigh them into .3gr lots.

I weigh my 80s into .1gr lots, then air gauge each projectile.

I hand dump each charge, inspect the entire loading block, and rough seat my 80s to about 2.550" OAL.
I store my long range ammo in this configuration, and then seat it to length less than 1 month prior to a match. Each round is weighed for total weight, and measured for OAL. Then packaged into lots.

I currently use Redding Competition Dies, for all calibers, 2 Rockchucker presses, and several custom comparitors and OAL gauges.
