I've seen bullets hit 75 yds nice and stable with good groups, but at 100yds they aren't even on paper anymore...

Distances will vary greatly with load, barrel length, and environmental conditions. But when it does lose stability, it will veer off sharply and go off into never never land.

It REALLY depends. Too many variables. 25-100 yards is probably as good an answer as I can give you based on my experience. I've seen them keyhole at 25 and I've seen them keyhole at 100. (If you hit paper at 100 and see a keyhole you can pretty much assume it JUST started keyholing, or you'd not be close to the paper). |
