So I've spent all this money on an SBR 9mm and I don't know what optic I want to use. Well, that's a lie. I WANT to use an Aimpoint Micro but is it worth it? There are a ton of micro dots out on the market right now, but is it worth speeding 500-600 dollars on an Aimpoint? What are you guys using?

Anybody use anything from Holosun with any success?

I have an Aimpoint T1 Micro and a couple of the Primary Arms (~$100) micro dots.  The Primary Arms is the one I run on my 9mm and what I'm buying for my second 9mm upper.

Using an Aimpoint pro. At Less than 25 yards I can get cloverleaf patterns. At 100 yards I hit the steel plates and smile.

This is a fun gun. There is no need to strap a 2 pound Nightforce on top to see exactly which load will shrink my groups by another 1/10 of inch.
Keep it in a reasonable perspective. There are many red dot sights that work well on various budgets.

Enjoy your new rifle.

Yes. I have about a 1000 rounds using the the Holoson HS403G with the original mount (adequate) and now with a SLR T1 mount (great).  I haven't had any issues at the range or running drills with the Holosun but I wouldn't call it battle (or whatever) tested. You want that? Aimpoint.

Vortex Spitfire 1X Prism sight.  Great CQB optic!  Especially for us with old eyes.  Decent eye relief, beautiful double ring etched reticle.

I have one of these, myself. I really like it. The fact that the prismatic sights are more or less 1x "scopes" means the reticle will be sharp and clear, even for people with an astigmatism.

I tried a Holosun 503c, without success. Tightening the adjustment caps caused POI shift.

I have an Aimpoint H1 on mine. Keeps it nice and light. Debated about putting a cheap red dot, but couldn't bring myself to do it. After 4 years and 5-6k rounds it as not lost zero and is still on its orginal battery. The gun is deadly accurate within 100 yards. It was pricey, but I have no regreats. I also have a Bushnell TR25 on my Sig 522 and it is holding up fine. Its nowhere near the quality of an Aimpoint and I doubt it will hold up for more than 5 years.

I have 5 Primary arms red dots and they are very good. I bought a Holosun 503 at the Shot Show and so far i really like it, it has a reticle like an Eotech but sharper. I haven't used it enough yet to know about durability. I have an Eotech and an Aimpoint h1 and I like this sight better than either of them.

I had a Aimpoint Pro on my 9mm SBR, but it looked a bit too bulky on such a short gun (I am running a 4.5 inch barrel), so I swapped over to a Trijicon MRO.  Works great, looks great.  .

I have a Holosun 503c on order from Amazon.  Will not arrive until April-ish?

Looking for another red dot in the meantime, then will move it over to my M&P 15-22 SBR.  I'd like a good optic for less than $250 that I can use to shoot more precisely from 25-50 yards.  Would like to keep the size and weight down a lot.

Any recommendations?

It's hard to beat the Primary Arms for the money, The Vortex mentioned above is very nice too. Shop for a sale a friend of mine got a Vortex under $200 from Midway.

I must have gotten lucky then.  I ordered mine a few days ago and got it within 2 days thanks to Prime.  I haven't shot it yet, but so far I like the reticle..

I waited a few days too long (sold out) but the price also dropped to like $206 or so.  I guess the boat will arrive in a few more weeks.

Glad to hear you like it so far!

I have a Sparc ll on my 9mm. I like it. Bang for the buck it's good. It doesn't have 64 years of battery life like the aimpoints nor would I take it to the sandbox but it works for my usage.

7" 5.56...but similar application.

I went with the 'ol C-More.

Some people voice durability concerns, but my son dropped it from about waist height onto the optic on a tile floor. There was no damage apparent and it held zero.

It is an absolute cowitness with those sights.

I'm trolling here as a 9mm SBR may be my final (AR) frontier

Same here, i saw the slickdeals ad and jumped on the 503c for $206.  It looks like a nice unit, cant wait to test her out. Still waiting for my buffer to come in to complete my build.

My Holosun 503C came in last week and I got to take it to the range Friday.

Holy cow this red dot is bad ass.  Best $206 I've spent in quite some time.

For those of you familiar with Aimpoint:  What's the difference (besides cost) between the Micro H-1 and the Micro T-1?  Are Aimpoint products still made in Sweden?

Ordered one of these

Vortex SPARC AR

For my S&W MP-15/22 - if I had a flat-top 9mm, i'd consider one for it, too

ETA shipping April or May

H1 doesn't have night vision settings and a bit less water resistance. It's great for 87% of shooters.

I love my T2

Vortex 1x scope.   No batteries.   Fixed scope with no extra parts to break.   90 ft fov at 100 yards.   Recently,   a local Deputy said hitting at 100 yards was so easy it was almost like cheating.

Short 9mm has PA micro dot, left side rheostat/control
10.5" 9mm has Leupold 1.5-5x VX3 on aero's lightweight mount (both are incredibly light vs other common options). It's the perfect 100yds gun.

I'm way too poor to have Aimpoints on all my rigs (I wish!!!).

I have 3 Bushnell TRS25s.  One on my 9mm AR, one on my 10/22 and one on my AK.  My buddy has one on his .300 blackout and one on his 5.56.

Never had an issue with any of them.  They are my "go to" budget red dot.  I don't think I paid more than $65 for any of them.

+3  I have one on my SHTF/HD 5.56, one on my Colt pattern 9mm and one on order for my Glock magwell 9mm AR. Works great. Only nit to pick is I wish it had an off position between each two brightness positions on the control like the Burris MTAC scopes and that the control turned a little easier..

Just bear in mind... the 22LR and the 9x19 have a pretty close trajectory if zeroed for 100yds... about 3" high at 50yds and dropping like a rock past 100yds.

A whole 12 inches at 150yds ( again zeroed at 100yds ) and 3 feet by 200 yds.
