Hello Everyone,
I'm new to the site so I hope I'm posting this in the right place. I'm still looking through the wealth of information here and am looking forward to learning a lot. I'm a vet of 8 years. While I do not currently own an AR I've used one enough to not need to. Still I never really got into the technical specs of an AR and that is what I'm doing now. I've taken up coon hunting with hounds over the past few years. I was finding that I really missed those features I had with my AR but here in the safe state of NY I couldn't have them.
I thought about getting a ruger 10/22 but the detachable mag meant I couldn't have what I was looking for. So I set out to make for myself what I wanted. Below are some pictures of what I came up with. It is a Marlin Model 60 .22 that I cut off the end of the stock and replaced it with a standard AR telescoping stock. I then took a standard A2 grip which worked perfectly and screwed on some forearm rails so I can use all the goodies with it. No detachable mag means I can do whatever I want to it and be safe according to NY.
I wanted to post it up and see from the people who are really into the AR's I modeled it after what do you think, like, or would have done differently? Any suggestions are much appreciated.
