I am considering buying a Ciener conversion for my rifle and have a 1/7 twist on my rifle.  1/7 is clearly optimized for heavier ammunition, but how will it react to something like a 22lr?  Has anyone put 22lr rounds thru a 1/7 barrel?  Is it at all accurate/consistent?  Thx.

it seems to be application dependent. it might work for you, might not work for someone else.

try it and see.
if it doesn't work well, IE keyholes or poor accuracy, you can dig up an A1 upper fairly cheap or get a dedicated upper for $400-500 or so.

I have a Colt Gov't model (1/7) I bought in the late 80's that came with the Colt 22LR kit. When I first got it I shot it a lot in 22LR because I could use it at the indoor range nearby. I never had any problems out to 25 yds.
