Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Cav arms Mk2 in 9mm?

I have an extra Mk2 lower I'd like to set up in 9mm for plinking.   The Cav has a much wider magwell which I hope can take advantage of an uber hi cap el cheapo surplus mag.   Anyone know of the best bang for buck setup I can go with?    I'm more than willing to manufacure my own magazine blocks.

I haven't heard of any 9mm mags that don't fit in the regular AR magwell.

"uber hi cap" would be the 100-round Beta drums, but that ain't cheap surplus.
"el cheapo surplus mag" would be the Sten mags.  

I've seen pics where someone has taken a 71-round Suomi drum and mated part of a Sten mag to the top as a feed tower so it can be inserted into an AR.  That might be your "tinker fix".
