Has anyone matched up a non-OLY upper with a GL lower?

The Colt/RRA type of uppers don't have an ejector or feedramp.  They are on the magazine block.  Oly uppers have the feed ramp on the barrel extension and the ejector is drilled and installed into the upper itself.

Even a standard OLY upper must have a notch put into it. I believe that it is for the bolt hold open bar to fit. It looks to be a simple small notch.
