Actually USA made one years ago that was a cross fit. It would also fit a 9mm. Uzi. The one that I had was a 50 rnd mag. It didn't work worth a damn! I haven't seen any of those for a very long time. I wish that I never got rid of that rifle. I sold it back in 92.

damn good question.....................I wish i had the time/ manufacturing equipment to do that.

The untimate, (if do-able sizewise) is a mag black that accepted Glock mags................imagine that!

We want mags that hold the bolt open after the last round is fired !!!!!

a glock mag would look pretty stupid sticking out the bottom of an AR. IMHO.

Promags SUCK, in my experience.  There's no reason for these magazines to be 50 fucking dollars though.

I didn't knwo that RRA's don't do that.  That blows.  Now I need to buy colt mags, huh?

Actually Oly sells a 9mm and 40s&w conversion that uses Glock, Sig, and Beretta mags for $650. The only downside is that the mags still need to be modified to work and Glock "Big Sticks" are $30 a pop.

RRA claims their system is a clone of the colt system.  so if the mags are teh same but dont hold open, than why not just buy follwoers that do?

I agree with the RRAstatement that the system (mag block) is a clone of the Colt system (mag block), but the magazines they sell are not (they still haven't answered my email)..

how can the mags not be the same??? The only difference if one holds open and one doesn't would HAVE TO be the follower, no?

Link Posted: 9/26/2004 2:58:43 PM EDT
[#16]
The RRA system uses modified UZI mags, not Colt mags. The modified UZI mags dont have a bolt hold on the followers, but even if they did, it would depend on which mag block you were using as to whether or not the bolt would hold open.

ETA, if you had a RRA mag block and either factory colt mags, or UZI mags modified with bolt hold tab on the follower, it would hold the bolt open just fine.

SO WHY CAN'T WE JUST FIND FOLLOWERS FOR TWO FRIKKIN CENTS rather than buy fourty dollar mags?

Takin' this to the GD my friends.

Look at an AR15 5.56mm magazine, see the channel at the back?  The the part of the follower that acuates the bolt hold open extends into this channel.  A Colt 9mm magazine is similiar.  The UZI magazine does not have that channel so you can't put the follower from the Colt 9mm in the UZI magazine even if the other dimensions are compatible.

there was a guy that used to post here who welded BHO tabs onto UZI followers. I think it was joe black. Don't know if he does it as a paid service, or how much it would cost.

yeah the last two posts were dead on.  some guy did make a follower (not for sale I think) and it required a channel in teh back of themag...

Joe Black (from numerous posts) is highly recommended for Uzi mag conversions and for the modified follower (as well as numerous other services such as bolt ramping)......

I just got (2) colt factory AR 9mm 20 rd.mags....holy crap, these things are awsome...I am going to shoot over the next couple of weekends and I'll post the results. They fit a good bit more snug then the uzis and do not have the front to back play.......It also holds the bolt open when the bolt is pulled to the rear (when empty mag is inserted).....Looking for additional mags with a higher capacity......

Joe ramped the bolt on my 635 conversion. No more broken hammer and trigger pins, yay! He does excellent work and quick. He also makes an excellent Ciener mag loader.
