You won't likely damage the gun, but you may have some hard extraction, depending on the gas port size in the barrel.
If it's what you want, buy it and try it. If you have hard extraction signs, you can always pick up an adjustable gas block and/or a heavy buffer. Do you have a link to the particular upper in question? |

A lot of 16" barrels have pistol gas because the
300 burns the majority of its gas in the first 9". A gas port beyond that doesn't add anything, other than being able to run a lighter buffer instead of an h1 or h2. You will be fine op. |

I don't have any personal experience with Radical, but I haven't really seen anything negative about them.
If I were in the market for a complete 16" upper, I'd probably give that one a try. AR's are like Barbies for boys, if you want to change something later, you can. |
