Oh I see my link don't work either.
The one I'm liking is the
Ontario 6504 OKC3S Marine Bayonet (Brown)
$99.49
8" blade

Yes, that M9 will work on a M4 barrel. If you have a 16 inch M4 profile it will not fit right. Midway had some surplus M9 bayonets for sale a while ago at a pretty good price. IIRC they were around $75, not sure if they are still available.

I have seen a pic of an A2 with the ONTARIO KNIFE COMPANY - 494 M7 BAYONET & SCABBARD on here.

It is the one i am wanting to buy soon.

Both M7 & M9 work on my Colt 20" A2 upper.

Just picked up two military M7 with scabbards for about $30 each from Sportsmans Guide and cleaned them, little bit of sharpening and they are good to go.

M7 is appropriate for A1 and older rifles. This is why he asked about M9 variants for his A4 rifle.
Wonder what mfg Midway was selling. Probably not Phrobis III. Likely gen cut or ontario.
Edited to point out that these are indeed Phrobus but not Phrobus III.
Still good piece.

M7 is the most cost-effective bayonet. It's also really great at being a bayonet, not a combo bayonet & fighting knife.

Late M9 or OKC-3S is appropriate for an A4 clone, depending if you want Army or USMC representation. (One USMC battalion was equipped with M9 bayonets around 1991. They were USMC marked and very rare.)

I think the German Eickhorn Bayonet (either 2000 or 2005 model) is the best AR bayonet there is.

Actually, if you want an accurate bayonet for most, lock up a foot locker, or metal kick down box. Use an American 5200 series lock, and then use a metal seal. Then never open it, just verify the serial number on the seal is correct.

Here's the way to make an m9/m7 bayonet work on a 16" M4(gery)
