Other than a grey receiver extension have coming, this is it. The lower is a grey EA lower that I cant do much about, the upper is a DK, which I have since found out its not Canadian. The barrel is a CL 1/7 pinned 14.5 that I had Heatnbeat turn down the front portion of the barrel to simulate a Canadian C8 profile, he also did the pinning w/peel washer...Even if it is not exact, its a pretty sweet carbine...Oh, the b-stock is not correct either

Cool, didn't even realize they made an extended A2.  Also good to know that a peel washer instead of a crush washer will still get you over 16" on the barrel length.

I have nearly the same carbine but I used an M4 stock just because I like the feel.

C-8s are sweet!

I know it's a bit off topic, but has anyone ever built a C7? I did AT in Canada this past week, and it was an interesting setup.

Sort of, but I use triangular hand guards.

Still love the format, though!!!!

I think the C7 is the pinnacle of the AR15, IMO.

You would of been better off using a CH Colt marked upper than a D K one. The first C8 had Colt marked uppers on them. D K marked uppers aren't even Diemaco uppers.

Bushmaster or DPMS both have C7 style uppers. NoDak spud also offer them in grey if you don't want black.

I think they are a after market upper or something similar to a PM marked M16A1 upper. When they US Army did the M16 to M16A1 conversion. Like I said all the early C7/C8 had a CH marked Colt upper. Other wise they have the stylized "D". Diemaco had nine different forging codes. If you look at Legs picture, it had the triple nested "W" which is a Waltech a Canadian forging.

I like the old school C7 better than the new version.

This one has a CMMG 1/7 twist A1 pencil barrel.

SWEEET!

I think you should get a mil-spec receiver extension and put a Colt fiberlite stock on it.  Originals are two position but it makes more sense to go with current offerings, both from pricepoint and utility perspectives.  They were all issued with Colt aluminum buttstocks originally, which I find curious seeing as how this was in the mid 80s (86,87), but fiberlite stocks have been used as replacements.

I thought about that, but for now I was going to refinish the extension gray...There are many things wrong with it...another thing I forgot was to replace the "clearance cut" end cap with with a solid type.

Can you post a pic of the forge marks?  Very tough to see in the pic but it appears that it may be the stylized D?

Didn't even notice the handguard retainer, a cheap fix though.
