I plan to install a Adams system on a 14.5 barrel. The barrel is stripped and I plan to go with the Samson extended rail for carbines. My question is seeing the Samson rail does away with the  g.i. handgard front plate and seeing as there has been no A2 front sight on this barrel, How do I know when the Adams gas block is over the barrels gas port hole?

What I did based on the instruction vid, was place my BCG in the gun, put the piston/plug in the GB (w/o the springs of course).  The GB should be in the "area" of the GP, I then butted the op rod against the BCG and backed off the GB the distance instructed.  IF the GB is TDC then you are good to go for a FS.  Just make sure the BCG is locked in after butting the op rod against it.  Replace all springs after set screws are tightened.  I discovered that at the initial installation the plug/op rod would push the plug out, after shooting not so much.  I understand that spring is just there to prevent rattle forward and back of the op rod.

Thank you, my brain is starting to hurt on this project.
