Here are some of the FoldAR product updates released this week:
1) Upper/Lower tolerance adjustments.
We have made tolerance adjustments to resolve the fit between our uppers and some "Mil-Spec" lowers.

2) Fully Adjustable Gasblocks.
Our prior non-adjustable gasblocks were being supplied by Faxon Firearms. These were failing at an unacceptable rate due to improper heat treat and/or improper material in combination with a fragile design.
We have redesigned the gasblock to include a fully adjustable needle valve, and have made the design more robust. Our new gasblocks have been tested with a variety of machine gun applications and perform flawlessly. Like our barrels and locking lever/hook assemblies, these are QPQ "Melonite" coated.

3) FoldAR Pistol Stabilizing Brace.
The Double FoldAR product line will now come with our own designed and manufactured pistol stabilizing braces. Benefits with our design include:
-Full NFA compliance when installed on the Dead Foot Arms MCS folding stock adapter.
-Installs on a standard Mil-Spec buffer tube (i.e. no expensive and difficult to install buffer tube required).
-A more compact, simple, and affordable design.



4) Locking Lever Pull-Lanyard.
A number of customers have requested a pull-lanyard option in order to avoid needing a cartridge to unlock the lever.
We have now incorporated this as a standard feature. The lanyard may be easily removed for those who don't want it, and the rim of a cartridge will still work just fine to unlock the lever.


5) Dimpled Barrel.
We are now machining dimples into the barrel where the gasblock setscrews mount the gasblock to the barrel.
The dimples are positioned in such a manner that forces the gasblock up against the journal shoulder and automatically aligns to with 1 degree TDC.

Right now we have stock in 9" 5.56 (223Wylde) uppers and Double FoldAR configurations, and mixed availability on other configurations, calibers, and lengths as shown on the website.

In the coming months (approaching SHOTSHOW) we will be pushing hard on the 6.8mm SPC. Reasons for this are:
A) We have found that the 6.8mm SPC performs equal to or better than the 6.5mm Grendel in barrels 16 inches and under.
B) Since the Army recently proposed adoption of the 6.8mm SPC, we anticipate ammo availability and options to drastically increase, and prices to decrease.
C) We have also found that the 6.8mm SPC feeds and ejects better than 6.5mm Grendel in semi-auto platforms.

Wont need a different gasblock since these are fully adjustable. Cant fit any other adjustable gasblock under there anyways. And no, never heard of a 1/10" standoff rule... as this would cover up your gasport and render the firearm useless (except for first shot).

They would crack even with almost no torque on the set screws during the first few rounds fired. We determined it was improper material being used on one of the entire batches we received. The first 500 we bought didnt have this issue except they would still stretch if tightened down hard. Then when heated up it would relax the fragile design and self-loosen the setscrews, allowing the gasblock to move forward.

So we opted to make our own. If you want it done right...

Yes, what gasblock size?
I don't want to put them up on the website because I know we wont have any left for production uppers if the gasblocks are made available to the general public.

There's no other SAAMI spec 6.8mm centerfire round as far as I know.
Dont count on this being selected...
They will end up defaulting to 6.8mm REM SPC. They just needed something comparable to "evaluate" in order to justify a sound decision (and the additional grant money).
