My M16A1 clone has been sitting in the M12 rack for months after I played musical uppers trying to get the best color match with my NDS lower.

I finally remember that it wasn't zeroed so I took her to the range to correct that oversight.

I'd forgotten what a joy the A1 was to shoot.  I even got a half decent group at 100 yards with 55gr S&B.

I don't think I would have gotten so hard into an retros if they weren't fun to shoot as well as collect.

Nice rifle

Beautiful rifle 709SS!

I have been shooting carbine length AR's for many years, and enjoy shooting them very much. But I really fell in love with shooting my M16A1 (repro). My full length rifle has a very different feel from any of my carbines, and gives me the ability to really reach out accurately.

I think the furniture IS brand new.  Well, new-old-stock.

I just kept my eyes open and kept trading up on furniture until I got that NOS set.

It helped that I got into retro at peak supply rather than peak demand.

I hear you on that, I couldn't imagine trying to build the stuff I've built now a days.

Throw a Brownells Retro scope on top and shoot a Cola Warrior with it.
