Well boys I saw some historic retro that was actually gold plated so I decided to try this out. My favorite was the H and R so thats how I went.  I really had fun building this one from an 80 percent receiver.  I doesn't hide well but its fun to have.  24 K gold plate.   Hope you enjoy the photos.  Oh man I forgot how to load photos hope this works.

It should have been in Goldfinger.

That is very nice, elegant ! Now you need to take better pictures, so it will really show off.

I did the plate myself as its hard to get locals to do it because of the ffl issue.  Nickel plate is needed then gold.  If you have a fine control power source its not super expensive to do.  If you have to buy the rectifier it gets  cost prohibitive.  I learned a ton doing this.  It puts a lot of smiles on faces when they hold it.   Its been worth it.

I don't remember which parts are plated and which parts are "normal" finish from other people's gun show pictures.  Are you going to plate other parts like the buffer tube and the sling swivel?  I'd like to see pictures of the other side / more pictures.

The only one I have seen  is H and R .  Was through a glass case at a gun show  It was a transferable M16a1 and way out of my ability to own.    Mine alas is mere  semi auto new manufacture look alike.  I plated all parts except the hammer disconnector  every thing else is plated.  I am thinking I will nickel plate another maybe a 1911.  I had way to much fun to stop now.

Wood furniture would not be the retro copy i am trying to make.  Nice idea and would look cool but not what I was after.  Here are a few more photos

Don't usually care for bling on gun, but that turned out really nice.

barrel  is new from Green Mountain.   The upper receiver is the only thing that is actual H and R   I looked at the video link posted above and not a single M16A1 in it only those  ak's  or variant  ..... hey  I should do one of those as well.  I tried to minimize the use of original parts as they are hard to come by.   The upper had been bead blasted by someone else so it was in the white.   Now I need to make up a story about a big shot who owned  this or the president that was given this as a gift.  Any Ideas?

I think I once saw a photo of JFK handling one like that with LBJ next to him.

I'm really not a retro-bling guy, but that's just excellent workmanship

Saddam's personal gun given to him by Dick Cheney in the '80's when we were fighting the Iranians together when we weren't supplying the Iranians behind their backs.  Brought back by a Marine who found it in Kurdistan and bought it off the Kurds who really captured Saddam.

Saddams gun , Dick Cheney ,The  Kurds.  Great basis for a story believable yet interesting with some honor.      Yes  I like it.   Any other stories?   As long as its not include total disregard of dignity like Hillary, dead ambassador , lost emails and a  felony running for president I will be interested.  ..................BTW Trump for president the only choice in 2016!
