The film is "Blindfold" it stars Rock Hudson and Claudia Cardinal. The guy with the AR10 is the main bad guy.

The Green Berets. When Sergeant Kowalski, actor Mike Henry, gets caught in the booby trap. John Wayne picks up the AR10 and breaks the buttstock.
