You could always pick up a fistfull of black ones and send them over to US Anodizing to be redyed. Recoup your expense on the EE.

The Apex are not gray.  Actually, none of the Apex parts are what I would consider period correct color.  I'll see if I can post a pic tomorrow.

Heatnbeat's are $17.  I'd just get one from him.

I thought he's still selling the parts he has.  Just not doing projects.

I've got some complete assemblies that have wear that I am looking to get rid of (reasonably priced too).  Shoot me an email, and I'll send pics later this evening.

I used an Apex kit.  He's right, they're not grey.

I just saw what you picked up. That is a particularly nice one.

Did you find out who made it?

3 weeks for Form 3 to come back, maybe.
But I'll be surprised if a Form 1 comes back that soon.
I'll cross my fingers too.
My last Form 1 was sent 1/25/2010 and I got it back 5/27/2010.(122 days)
The best turn around I ever got was a Form 4 sent 1/19/2008 that I received back 2/28/2008.(35 days)

The stock has been bubba'd.
From what I can tell it looks like an Edwin 607.

My un bubba edwin 607 has an end plate threaded onto the latch rod.
This one has been poorly welded and ground over, then touched up with blue.

I might have to lean how to doctor up a 607 stock.
Either that or fix this guys welding.
