Ordered a Numrich Colt mag button, because I cant seem to find a colt grey mag button anywhere, and what came was a brand new production button that was black.  I thought all colt parts were grey even new production.  So did I just pay 12 something with shipping for a Colt button or did they just give me any new production mag button? Also is there any way I can paint over it with grey?

As far as I know, current production Colt parts are black.  I have half a dozen Colt magazine buttons purchased from Brownells, and all are black; they are going to be sent off to US Anodizing along with a number of other parts once I finish gathering up a few odds and ends.

I've never seen a new production Colt such as a 6920 with a grey mag release button, so don't worry.

I know plinkster, but hotlink class should be followed by dumb ass class.  I have a love/hate relationship with computers.

Your welcome.

Just remember that when you receive it you will think it looks black but it is in fact gray.  Hold it next to a black mag button and you will see the difference.  The gray color is dark and not light like aluminum receivers.  Those mag release assemblies were removed from M16 parts kits.

Did you happen to see the bolt catch release as well?  That is a very nice gray Colt part as well.

Thank you for the hot link.

Could you possibly walk me through the process of a doing a hotlink through an IM?  M1sniper sent me an IM a while ago but I don't have that anymore.

Thanks armorer dude!  I finally kicked my wife and son off the computer so I could get some arfcom time.

Also, if you are building a Retro AR then this is a must have

I got almost all of my M16A1 parts from APEX.  Nice to deal with and quality is excellent.  It appears that they may have broken down some of those kits that are floating around.  If that is the case I sure wish they would come up with the rest of them!
regards,
Ralph

I currently have all the parts for my 604 build all Colt.  Just did not have the mag button. Also picked up a Colt bayo for 59 bucks from Apex. I wonder if these bayos came back with the kits?
