I have a December 1944 M1, IIRC an August 1943 M1903, a best guess September 1943 M1 Carbine, a 1914 M1911 and a few other C&R bolt guns/pistols from other countries including a couple of Nazi proofed guns. I also have Colt WW1 and WW2 reproduction 1911s and I want an original Colt M1911A1 badly.

Oh, and my dad has an LRB M14 built with mostly all USGI parts and a birch USGI stock that I absolutely love.

I voted for all of them. I'm all about USGI firearms and clones. The only non USGI firearms I own are my and my wife's carry pistols (Hi Power and Model 36) and a shotgun for home defense. The M14 is first followed by the M16, M1, and all others after that. Anything used by the US Army Infantry has a place in my collection. I'd appreciate an 1861 Springfield as much as a SCAR 16.

Brace yourselves ––- i like to go back even farther than an '03 Springer ––- leverguns are my other passion. I hope to add a Winchester 1895 and a Shiloh Sharps Quigley rifle (it technically has a lever) to my collection one day. Also like all sorts of other wheelguns and other firearms from the late 1800's . I dont really have the geedus to own a bunch of originals though, and since i love to shoot, i would hate to have a 125 year old smokepole thats too valuable to shoot anyway –– so mine are modern versions

Garand(s), M1 Carbine(s), 1903, 1903A3, 1911A1 being built on a Colt slide, hunting for a Springfield 1898, and I think there's still a 1917 (Eddystone) in the box waaay back there. The K98k mauser just went to a new home along with one of the Tokarev TTC's. My C&R license has been a lot of fun.
My trips to the range usually include a lot of .30-06. |

Hi Bro,,no offence but only one of the above are considered "retro" the rest are "vintage".That was the determination last winter/spring by members here. A retro was defined as putting together one that is similiar to xxx model using some new made parts to acheive the look and feel of the original weapon.So actually only the M1A falls into the "retro" catagory as it's a semi auto only (new made) receiver made to look and feel like the real thing as are semi only lowers for the ar15/m16 series..Not my ruling,but a rather large discussion held sometime back in Feb or March..
I love all the above tho,,my 1st love was the 1903,then M1 Garands (heavy love for the M1 sniper versions). 
ETA you are 110% correct about our members being very interested in history.After I had posted pics of our living history display at Pres Roosevelts mansion last Memorial Day weekend,I was surprised at how many members wrote that they were also involved in living history groups.

Kind of forgot the 1917 Eddystone rifle and trench guns didn't ya? I had to check off the M-14, Garand, Carbine, Springfield and 1911A1 since I own these models already but I also have a 1917 Enfield as well as a Norinco 1897 Trench gun that would fall into the combat shotguns that were left off this poll.

Since I was stationed near Czechoslovakia during the cold war, I'm interested in getting a VZ 58 to go with my M16A1 clone
If I had more money, I'd buy a nice copy of every weapon issued by the U.S. Army. I've got two A1 clones, a Springfield GI, a Garand, and have been fighting the temptation to get a CMP Carbine. I'd love to have a 1917 and a 1903 and so on, all the way back

I was into the C&R thing until I had a whole pile of guns that didn't really fit any category. Not that there was any thing wrong with that. I just needed to focus on one area of collecting. I like AR's it's like Lego's for big people.

Pretty much all military small arms intrest me, mainly US Martial Arms, WWII rifles and pistols from all over, WWII training rifles in .22 cal., some NFA stuff.
AK's and HK's. But M1 Carbines, or just Carbines as I call them, really do it for me. I get just as exicted over parts too. |

Anything USGI (weapons and related) from about Span-Am through the adoption of the M9.
I've become more focused in recent years...Armalite in particular. Formerly a hardcore collector but now just a dabbler and a shooter. |

I like all of the military firearms. Started with garands. I wish you would have put a slot for military shotguns. I have a Model 12 trench and may soon be the owner of a Stevens 520-30 riot. If alll goes well.

So far I have a '68 Colt Official Police, a best guess '62ish S&W Model 36, a 1974-1977 (who knows) S&W Model 58 and a third issue Colt Detective Special. My dad has his Godfather's Colt Official Police (1932 or 1933 IIRC) revolver that was his duty weapon. I still want a Python, 5" S&W 27, 6" 28, 8 3/8" 29 and 4" 19 Combat Magnums. Oh plus a Colt Commando and a S&W Victory... My wish list is endless. I look at it this way, I'll be 28 in exactly one month. I have plenty of time left to collect everything I want in my life. |

You guys make me feel like a turd in the punch bowl! The only U.S. military (type) firearms I own are my M16A1 clone and a Bushmaster A2 (and a 604 clone "in progress"). My tastes tend to favor foreign weapons, particularly Swiss rifles. I do have an M1 on my wishlist, though.
EDIT - Mike's post reminded me - I've alo got a U.S. property marked Mossberg M44US. I have (once) fired a 1' 5-shot group at 100 yards with this rifle. Incredibly accurate for an iron-sighted rimfire. |

 Just kidding, A2's are still not Retro. Never will be in my book.
All joking aside, M1 Carbines have always intrigued me, but I have yet to get one, or do enough studying on them to know what to look for in buying one. I don't know if these would be considered for your poll/post, but Marlin 39A's are another one of my interests. Both were made in 1953, bought by me from 2 different people at different times. I thought that was a kinda odd coincidence. Top: standard 39A w/24" barrel. Bottom: 39A Mountie w/24" barrel. (From what I've been told over at RimFireCentral.com, 1953 was the first year for Mounties, & a 24" barreled Mountie is pretty rare.) 
ETA: After voting in the poll, I see you meant other "Military" firearms. So my Marlins don't apply, but I'm gonna leave them here anyway cause they are old at least. That is part of the definition of Retro isn't it? |

1917 Colt M1911 rearsenaled for use in WWII. ETA: Oh and a 1918 all matching DWM Luger with a Nazi eagle on the back of the pistol, below the sight, and a WAA stamp next to it..very strange.
